Gongseri Catholic Church is the historic church of 120 year tradition, and it was designated as No, 144 cultural asset by Chungcheongnam-do. It is also a very important sacred place with many martyrs who sacred their life for Catholic. Gongseri Catholic Church has its own unique beauty as well as long history and tradition. In 2005, it has Catholic Church's own beauty and charm so that Korea Tourism Corporation selected it as the most beautiful Catholic Church that represents the Republic of Korea.

This church balanced with 3 national protected trees over 350 years and old big trees shows something different landscape by each season. Because of this beautiful landscape, Gongseri Catholic Church is also very famous for movie or drama filming place, and around 70 movies including "Taegeukgi Whinalrimyeo", "Nun Agada", "Love and Ambition", "East of Eden", and "You are Good-looker"were filmed here.
