It is a shrine for the Admiral Yi Sun-Shin, which is located in the edge of Banghwa Mountain, Yeomchi-eup, Asan city, 4km away from Onyang Hot Spring and that's where he grew up till he passed the military service examination. 108 years after his death for the country in the battle of Noryang in 1598, this shine was built in the period of King of Sukjong(1706) to pay a tribute to the memory of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin and the King of Sukjong, himself kindly named it Hyeonchungsa in 1707.

This place was appointed as a historical remain number 155 and has been cared by the government. And also, his cemetery in Eora Mountain, Eumbong-myeon, Asan city was appointed as a historical remain number 112 and has been cared by the government. Admiral Yi Sun-Shin 's portrait is served in the main temple and Shipkyeongdo, a record of his entire life, Nanjungilki(Admiral's Diary), national treasure number 76 and Jangkeom(Long sword), treasure number 326 are displayed in the hall of relics. And his old house, archery field and Jeongryeo are in the precinct.
